You already know about the FIFA 10 game and that is a great soccer game. Any add-ons to the game would just give it even more replayability then it already has. FIFA 10 Ultimate Team is here to take more hours from your life and devote them to the game of Futbol. When you begin, you are given an introduction and tutorial of FIFA 10 Ultimate Team. After the tutorial, you create your team name and you are then given your first pack. It's a bronze pack that gives you players, home/away jerseys, stadiums, and other extras. This is what you would call your starter pack and the pack to get you going on your way in creating the Ultimate Team. Once you get your team, the planning process of Ultimate Team kicks in and that involves your squad and team chemistry.

Like any other sport team, if there is no chemistry, there is no team (unless they work around it). In FIFA 10 Ultimate Team, the way you organize and treat your players determine how well the team will play so building your team is just as important as playing the game. As quoted in the tutorial, "Team building is about getting the best players you can, and then getting them to play well together". Players who play for the same club, country, or league will always have a bond to each other and this creates good chemistry. You want to connect your players with other players that are significant to that formation. You will play around with this to start but in order to grow the chemistry, you need to gain get more coins and get more cards.

Which brings us to the next part of FIFA 10, playing for more coins. You have the option of playing in three different game modes. You can play online against others in a normal match, playing in a tournament, or playing single player against the computer. When you play against the CPU, the amount of coins are determined by win or loss, difficulty of the team, and skill. Online match is the same thing except instead of the CPU it's another player from somewhere around the world.

Tournaments are both single player and online. There are new tournaments every few days and this is where you will want to get most of your coins. The cool thing about each tournament is that they all have requirements; like having only three people on your team from the same nationality. Each tournament is different and the higher you get in the tournament, the more coins you earn. Expect a lot of your time being spent playing tournaments.

You will notice after about four or five games some players cannot be allowed to play. That's because there contract expired. While you do get 12 cards per pack, you will get special cards like contracts, player training, and team training. These cards not only keep your players in shape but it also helps you keep them on the team. You will have to buy a card pack or two every five or six games unless you have a big enough roster. You can create multiple teams and create different strategies when it comes to tournaments.

There is a lot to do in FIFA 10 Ultimate Team. To give you a full review will require hours upon hours upon hours of gameplay but after 7 hours of gameplay, I think I gave you enough reason to play FIFA 10 Ultimate Team. I do want to mention though that if you're going to be one of those people who buy the packs with MS points just to be ahead of the rest, I don't see how you can enjoy this game. Do it if you like, but in order to feel real accomplishment in FIFA 10 Ultimate Team, you will work for the top players. You will work for the gold and silver cards. I promise you that not only will you save money in your pocket, but again, you will feel the true accomplishment of creating your Ultimate Team.

Buy or Pass

Buy: If you have been playing FIFA 10 the past few months, then Ultimate Team just gave you more reasons to keep playing. At least while you wait for EA Sports World Cup 2010 South Africa. If you're not sure if you want to buy FIFA Ultimate Team, then try five game trail but by then you will want to continue. The team chemistry is awesome and NEEDS to be implemented in other sports games (like NHL 11). The main downside of Ultimate Team is the amount of menus and searching you will be doing for the cards when you get them but there is a lot to collect and a lot to do regardless. FIFA 10 Ultimate Team just gave FIFA 10 more replayability then it already needed. That by all means is not a bad thing.
